Anyone can roll paint on a wall. The difference is everything that happens before that.

Evergreen Painting & Texture was founded by Hugo and Pattie Guerra and named after the Evergreen community in San Jose they have called home for more than two decades. That is not a marketing line — it is the reason the work looks the way it does. When your customers are your neighbors, there is nowhere to hide a rushed prep job.

For over 25 years we have delivered residential and commercial painting throughout the Bay Area, using high-quality primers, paints and equipment on every surface we touch: wood, stucco, vinyl, concrete and brick. We mask, we patch, we sand, we protect what we are not painting, and we clean up at the end of every day — not just at the end of the job.

Clear communication and a quote you can trust matter as much to us as the finish itself. We will tell you honestly what your home needs, and just as honestly what it does not.

What We Offer

Six services, one crew.

Most homes need more than paint. Keeping it all with one experienced team means the prep, the finish and the exterior maintenance are handled to the same standard — and scheduled around each other properly.

01

Interior Painting & Texture

Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, stairwells and full interiors. We protect floors and fixtures, repair the surface first, and lay down a smooth, even finish that looks right in every light.

  • Drywall patching and surface repair
  • Texture matching — smooth, orange peel, knockdown
  • Trim, baseboard, crown and door casings
  • Full floor and fixture masking
02

Exterior Painting & Texture

For a professional and experienced team of exterior painters, look no further. Our exterior work covers all types of surfaces, including wood, stucco, vinyl, concrete and brick — prepped properly for Bay Area sun and winter rain.

  • Wash, scrape, sand and prime
  • Caulking and dry rot touch-up
  • Stucco and siding texture repair
  • Trim, fascia, garage doors and railings
03

Cabinet Painting & Refinishing

Your best source for cabinet painting and refinishing in San Jose. Paint, stain or fully refinish — a kitchen upgrade for a fraction of replacement, without tearing your house apart.

  • Degrease, sand and bond-prime
  • Doors and drawers finished off-site or masked in place
  • Painted, stained or clear-coat finishes
  • Hardware removal and reinstall
04

Decks & Wood Staining

Decks take the worst of it — sun, rain and foot traffic. We will keep yours looking good for years: staining, cleaning, restoration, arbors and pergolas. Our expert stainers leave wood looking new again.

  • Deck cleaning and restoration
  • Semi-transparent and solid stains
  • Arbor, pergola and fence staining
  • Railings and stair treads
05

Power Washing

Sometimes the house does not need paint — it needs a wash. We pressure wash siding, concrete and hard surfaces at the right pressure for the material, whether it is prep for painting or standalone cleaning.

  • Siding, stucco and brick
  • Driveways, walkways and patios
  • Pre-paint surface cleaning
  • Mildew and dirt removal
06

Gutter Cleaning

Clean gutters move rainwater away from your roof, siding and foundation. Clogged ones cause roof damage, wood rot, leaks, pests and ruined exterior paint. We clear them thoroughly as part of your home’s exterior maintenance.

  • Full debris clear-out and flush
  • Downspout check
  • Protects fascia, siding and foundation
  • Reduces mold, pest and rot risk
Before & After

The same kitchen, years newer.

Cabinet refinishing is the single biggest change most homeowners can make without a remodel. These are real Evergreen projects — same cabinets, same layout, no demolition.

AfterSame kitchen with cabinets refinished in white

Dated oak to clean white

Original oak cabinetry degreased, sanded, bond-primed and finished in a durable satin white. Existing granite and appliances untouched — the room reads brand new without a single cabinet being replaced.

Masked, prepped, transformed

The photo on the left is what proper prep actually looks like: every opening masked, counters and floors covered, hardware removed. Two weeks later the same kitchen is bright, crisp and easy to keep clean.

How We Work

Five steps, no surprises.

You will know who is coming, what is happening each day, and when it will be finished before we open a single can of paint.

Walk-through

Hugo comes out, looks at the actual surfaces, and talks through what the job really needs — in person, not over a form.

Written estimate

A clear scope and price. You will not be oversold; if something can wait a year, we will say so.

Colors & samples

Not sure on color? We help you narrow it down and sample large areas on your own wall so you can see it in your light.

Prep & protect

Furniture moved and covered, floors and fixtures masked, surfaces washed, patched, sanded and primed. This is where the finish is won.

Paint & punch list

Coats applied, then we walk the job ourselves before you do — and fix what we find. Clean site every evening at 5pm.

The Standard

What’s included on every job.

Not add-ons, not line items to negotiate — this is simply how we work on a $2,000 room and a whole-house exterior alike.

  • Furniture moved and covered. We treat your home the way we would want ours treated.
  • Full masking of floors, fixtures and hardware. Light fixtures, outlets, counters, railings — covered or removed.
  • Surface repair before paint. Patching, caulking, sanding and spot-priming so the finish sits flat.
  • High-quality primers, paints and equipment. Only. It is the cheapest place to save money and the most expensive place to regret it.
  • A crew that keeps a schedule. On site at 8am, cleaned up at 5pm, every day — and we hold to that.
  • Daily clean-up. Your home stays livable while we are in it.
  • Our own punch list. Hugo walks the finished job meticulously before handing it over.

How estimates work

Estimates are free and there is no obligation. Every home is different — square footage, surface condition, number of colors, height and access all change the number, so we do not quote a real project sight-unseen.

What you get instead is a walk-through with the owner, a written scope in plain language, and a firm price for that scope. If you want to phase the work over two seasons to spread the cost, we will lay out how.

Residential and commercial projects both welcome. Interior, exterior, or both at once.

Ask about combining a repaint with power washing or gutter cleaning while the crew and ladders are already on site — it is the easiest money you will save all year.

★★★★★

“We had a great experience working with Hugo and his team. He was helpful in picking out paint colors and providing large areas to sample on the wall. He properly prepped and cleaned before painting and the team was prompt and diligent in their work. Hugo really went over and beyond in terms of detail and touching up fixtures. We really appreciated their service and would proudly recommend them and use them again!”

★★★★★

“I could not be any happier with the work of Evergreen Painting and Texture. They not only transformed my tired looking house into a beautiful home that makes me happy every time I pull into my driveway, but they also took care of what cannot be seen to help protect my home from water damage.”

Kelly Rodman
★★★★★

“They are very professional, start every morning at 8am sharp and cleanup each day at 5pm and they will keep to that schedule. Hugo will go over the house with you very carefully during the quoting and will not oversell you. I’ll bet you he will meet or exceed everybody in quality and beat them in price. Lastly, they use good quality material. I urge you to at least get a quote from these guys.”

★★★★★

“Hugo Guerra and Evergreen Painting are fabulous! I would definitely recommend him and his crew, and they went way beyond my expectations! The prep work to start was long and tedious given that the prior paint job wasn’t correctly applied, and their attention to detail was impeccable. As I had many questions, Hugo was always very patient explaining the process in a very thorough manner.”

Terry Ahern
★★★★★

“Hugo and his team are exceptional. Excellent workmanship, on time every day, and extremely professional. They painted the entire interior of our home from floor to ceiling, including the inside of the cabinets. All areas were painted beautifully with perfect attention to detail. My neighbors who witnessed the project were very impressed with how clean and organized they conducted their job.”

Nava Fathi
★★★★★

“During the remodel I was working with many subcontractors directly and I can tell you without question, Hugo and Evergreen Painting were by far the most professional to work with. His team are experts in their craft and super polite. At the end of the job I was ready to create a punch list, but Hugo came in and went through it meticulously himself. He is a perfectionist.”

We know what your house is made of.

Every material needs different prep, different primer and different pressure. Guessing is how paint fails in three years instead of lasting ten.

Questions

Asked often.

How much will my project cost?

It depends on the surfaces, their condition, the height and access, how many colors, and how much repair is needed first. That is exactly why the estimate is free and done in person — you get a real number for your home instead of a range that changes once we arrive.

Do you help with choosing colors?

Yes. We will help you narrow down options and put large sample areas directly on your wall so you can live with them for a day or two in your own light before committing.

How long does a typical job take?

A single room can be a day or two; a full interior or a whole-house exterior usually runs one to two weeks depending on prep. You will get a schedule with your estimate, and we work 8am to 5pm so the days are predictable.

Can I stay in the house while you work?

Almost always, yes. We work in sections, mask thoroughly, and clean up at the end of every day specifically so your home stays livable while the project is running.

Do you do commercial work as well as homes?

Both. Evergreen Painting & Texture supplies residential and commercial clients with the same standard of preparation and finish.

Is cabinet refinishing really worth it versus new cabinets?

For solid boxes in good shape, it is one of the highest-value changes you can make to a kitchen — a fraction of replacement cost, no demolition, and done in days rather than weeks. If the boxes themselves are failing we will tell you that instead.

How often should exterior paint be redone in the Bay Area?

Typically somewhere between eight and twelve years, depending on sun exposure, the surface, and how well it was prepped last time. South and west-facing walls always go first. If it is close, we will tell you honestly whether it can wait another season.

Can you power wash or clean gutters without a paint job?

Yes, both are offered on their own. Many customers schedule gutter cleaning as regular exterior maintenance to protect the roof, fascia, siding and foundation from water damage.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in San Jose 95148 and serve the surrounding Bay Area — Evergreen, Willow Glen, Almaden, Berryessa, Cambrian, Campbell, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Morgan Hill and beyond. If you are not sure, call and ask.

How do I get started?

Call (408) 239-3939 or send the estimate form above. We will schedule a walk-through, usually within a few days, and you will have a written estimate shortly after.
